(外語都很難學。)

X Each of the students have to give a presentation.
(每個學生都要發表演說。)
問題在哪？

對，every 與 each 用錯了。
它們都指★★★★★單數的★★★★★東西。
是「每一個」的意思。「每一個」還是一種「一個」！

第一個比較簡單。Every 後面需要單數的 language:
√ Every foreign language is hard to learn.

第二個微妙一點。因為 of the students 是個介系詞片語，核心的句子是：
X Each have to give a presentation.
這樣寫比較明顯，單數的 each 不配複數的 have, 會配單數的 has. 所以：
√ Each of the students has to give a presentation.

好了。其實，我們有一個說法強調「每一個，連一個都不能漏！」，就是
★ each and every
